Abstract:
Rosa hybrida‘Xianjing’was used as test material. The pot experiment was carried out,the effects of four phosphorus levels (0,10,20,30g·plant
-1,as P0,P10,P20and P30)on the root growth, nutrient absorption in different organs, leaf SPAD value, and flowering quality (number of flowers, flower diameter, dry weight of flowers, etc.)of Rosa hybrida‘Xianjing’were studied in order to provide a reference for nutient management of rose. The results showed that different phosphorus supply levels significantly changed the root morphology of‘Xianjing’.Compared with P0and P10treatments,the total root length in P20and P30treatments increased by 81%-111%,the total root surface area increased by 133%-196%,and the total length of fine root increased by 95%-119%.The biomass of different organs(new leaves, new shoots and roots)and the accumulation of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients showed a similar trend to root growth.Compared with P0and P10treatments,the number of flowers per plant in P20and P30treatments increased by 128%-206%and the leaf SPAD value increased by 16%-21%.Compared with the control P0,the flower diameters in P10,P20and P30increased by 12%,19%and 24%,respectively.The total root length showed a significant positive correlation with the absorption of total nitrogen and total phosphorus. In summary, the potted rose‘Xianjing’exhibited a high degree of root plasticity for different phosphorus supply levels, and an appropriate phosphorus supply levels promoted root growth and nutrient absorption, and improved flowering quantity and quality.
