Abstract: The influence and its mechanism of landscape plants on properties of urban green soil were reviewed,,in order to explore the effect of plant species or community on urban green soil.The results showed that, community with higher biodiversity, more biomass and litter, more developed root system may increase the input of soil organic matter and the biodiversity of soil microorganisms.The quality and quantity of aboveground and underground plant litter were the key factors affecting soil physical and chemical properties.However, the classified and comparative research on effects of landscape plants on urban green soil between species, especially systematic mechanism research was absent.Insufficiency of research limited application and ecological benefit of landscape plants in the construction of ecological city.
