Abstract:
Two pumpkin rootstocks(‘Golden rootstock’ and ‘Japanese Cedar’) and one pumpkin variety(‘Miben Pumpkin’) were used as test materials. When the two cotyledon of seedlings were normal, the dose of 0,1,2,4,6 mmol·m

-1 EOD-FR was added at 19:30 every day.The effects of different doses of EOD-FR on hypocotyl elongation, morphological development and pigment content of different pumpkin seedlings were studied, in order to provide reference for the use of far-red light in the cultivation and grafting of pumpkin in facilities. The results showed that the hypocotyl length of the three pumpkin seedlings increased with the increase of the far-red light dose. The hypocotyl length of the ‘Golden Rootwood’ and ‘Japanese Cedar’ seedlings was close to saturation at the far-red light dose of 4 mmol·m

-1.However, different doses of EOD-FR had no significant effect on dry matter accumulation and seedling strength index. In conclusion, the addition of appropriate dose of EOD-FR can increase the hypocotyl length of seedlings without affecting the strong seedling index, which is conducive to improving the survival rate of grafting.
