Abstract:
Taking ’Changfu 2’ apple tree planted in 1984 as the test material,a field plot experiment was conducted to study the effects of different biochar application amounts on the physicochemical properties of orchard soil and fruit quality,in order to provide reference for the application of biochar in apple production. The results showed that biochar had certain effects on soil physicochemical properties and fruit quality. The application of biochar could improve soil physical properties. The effect of 4 kg·plant
-1 on soil depth of 20-40 cm was the most significant, and the soil bulk density decreased by 10.8% compared with CK.Field water capacity, saturated water content, capillary water capacity and soil porosity increased by 21.6 %,19.0 %,19.6 % and 13.5 %,respectively. The application of 4 kg·plant
-1 biochar increased soil pH by 8.8% and 12.2% in the 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm soil layers, and soil organic matter increased by 65.4% and 47.4% in the 20-40 cm and 40-60 cm soil layers, respectively.Biochar application increased the content of total N and available P in soil, and decreased the content of availatle N.The application of biochar could improve the fruit quality. With the increase of the amount of carbon applied, the sugar-acid ratio and vitamin C content of apple fruit were significantly increased, and the increase of 4 kg·plant
-1 was the highest,which was 27.3% and 37.2% higher than CK,respectively.
