Abstract:
Agrostis stolonifera L.,Poa pratensis L.and Festuca elata Keng ex E.Alexeev, which were commonly used in northern China, were used as the materials, and saline-alkali soil was used as blank control(CK).Nutrient soil was used as reference(S),and the proportion of sludge compost was 5%,10%,20%,40% and 60% for experimental treatment. After 45 days of normal maintenance and management, the changes of seedling height and root length, fresh and dry weight, relative electrical conductivity, and contents of chlorophyll, soluble sugar, free proline and malondialdehyde(MDA) were measured. The effects of compost sludge on the physical and chemical properties of saline-alkali soil and on the growth and development of three cold season turfgrasses were studied, in order to reduce the production cost of turfgrass in saline-alkali area and improve the greening rate. The results showed that, 1) with the increase of sludge application, soil physicochemical properties were significantly improved, the bulk density decreased by 0.46%-37.40%,the total porosity and capillary porosity increased by 0.66%-53.82% and 2.69%-72.29%,respectively.Soil pH and salt content decreased by 1.94%-11.19% and 10.07%-23.49%,respectively.2) With the increasing of sludge application ratio, the growth promotion trend of the improved saline-alkali soil as the substrate was first increased and then decreased. When the sludge compost content was 20%,10% and 20%,respectively, the results showed the best performance. In conclusion, applying quantitative sludge compost can effectively improve the properties of saline-alkali soil and the growth quality of turf grass.
