Abstract:
Taking Phalaenopsis aphrodite ‘16136’ as the test material, statistical analysis was used to study the correlation between morphological indicators and flowering characteristics of Phalaenopsis aphrodite at different seedling ages, in order to establish an appearance quality identification standard, predict flower characteristics from morphological characteristics, select seedlings in advance, and shorten the breeding cycle. The results showed that there was no significant change in morphological and flowering characteristics of the Phalaenopsis aphrodite ‘16136’(T1) at 6 months of seedling age until 12 months of seedling age(T2).However, significant changes were observed in all indicators from T2 to 18 months of seedling age(T3).There was a significant correlation between morphological indicators and flowering traits of Phalaenopsis aphrodite. There was a significant correlation between the plant height, maximum leaf width, and leaf number of T1 Phalaenopsis aphrodite and their flowering characteristics. There was a significant correlation between the maximum leaf length, maximum leaf thickness, and leaf number of T2 Phalaenopsis aphrodite and their flowering characteristics. The plant height, maximum leaf length, and maximum leaf width of T3 Phalaenopsis aphrodite are significantly correlated with their flowering characteristics. Therefore, when promoting flowering of Phalaenopsis aphrodite at different seedling ages, the correlation between morphological indicators and flowering traits can be used to predict their flower transverse diameter, flower longitudinal diameter, number of flower stems, inflorescence length, and number of flower stems.
