Abstract: ‘Chiyan No.43’ is a new pepper F₁ hybrid of fresh type, developed by crossing inbred line‘62-1 A’as female parent and inbred line‘270 C’as male parent.Its plant has strong growth vigor.The first flower sets on the 9^th-11^st node.The fruit is of goat-horn shape.The immature fruit is green in color and matured one is red in color.Its fruit is 24.0-28.0 cm in length and 4.0-4.8 cm in width.Its pulp is 0.3-0.4 cm in thickness.The single fruit weight is about 107 g.The vitamin C content is 1 370 mg·kg^-1 and capsaicin content is 0.000 175%.Its fruit tastes spicy.In fields, it has resistance to CMV,TMV,anthrax and epidemic disease.It can yield about 76.6 t·hm^-2.It is suitable for cultivation in open fields in Inner Mongolia and Changzhi of Shanxi Province.
