Abstract:
Based on the survey data of 507 vegetable farmers in Jiangxi Province, a binary Logistic regression model was used to analyse vegetable farmers′ willingness to adopt IoT technology and its influencing factors in five aspects, personal characteristics, household business characteristics, location characteristics, cognitive characteristics and technological characteristics, and corresponding countermeasures were suggested to improve vegetable farmers′ willingness to adopt IoT technology, in order to accelerate the development and application of agricultural IoT technology and promote the modernization process of regional agriculture. The results showed that education level, government policy support for IoT technology, communication with other farmers, risk attitude, and knowledge of IoT technology had significant positive effects on vegetable farmers′ willingness to adopt IoT technology, and the positive effects of labour to engage in vegetable farming and distance to the largest home market were more significant. The five factors of gender, whether or not to join a cooperative, distance to the main road, the degree of IoT publicity and the ease of access to IoT information did not have a significant effect on vegetable farmers′willingness to adopt IoT technology.
