Abstract:
Broccoli is a kind of vegetable with high content of glucosinolate in the cruciferous family, known as an anticancer vegetable. In recent years, the functional role of glucosinolate has received increasing attention. However,as an important secondary metabolites, the content of glucosinolates are not stable. It can be influenced by genetic factors, cultivation conditions and exogenous minerals which significant impact on its content. This study utilized the glucosinolate-enriched characteristics of broccoli, and applised the external selenium fertilizer with appropriate concentrations, supported by matching temperature, light, and water management techniques.A set of efficient cultivation techniques of broccoli with high selenium and glucosinolate, for reference by growers with relevant needs were summarized.
