Abstract:
The alleviating effect of exogenous gibberellin(GA
3) on lead stress was studied with Coix lachryma as experimental material and seed germination method, in order to provide reference for the prevention of lead toxicity in the process of Coix lacix planting. The results showed that the low and medium concentration(25,50,100 mg·L
-1) of GA
3 could promote seed germination and seedling growth.Low concentration(25 mg·L
-1) GA
3 treatment had no significant effect on the inhibition of photosynthetic pigment content under lead stress.50,100 mg·L
-1 GA
3 could significantly increase the contents of chlorophyll a/b and carotenoids, thereby alleviate the damage of lead stress to plant photosynthesis.100 mg·L
-1 GA
3 could increase SOD and POD activities, reduce MDA,relative conductivity, proline and soluble sugar content, and maintain the normal function of cell membrane by reducing the level of membrane lipid peroxidation, so as to alleviate the toxic effect of lead on Coix plants. However, high concentration of GA
3 has little effect on alleviating lead stress.
