Abstract: China is the modern geographical distribution center and species diversity center of Epimedium plants.Most Epimedium plants in various regions are used as shade garden flowers and Traditional Chinese Medicinal（TCM） for medicinal purposes.The germ plasm resources of Epimedium plants research is of important basic value for botany and TCM study.This study provided a detailed summary of the botanical phylogeny and germ plasm resources research progress of Epimedium species in China from the perspectives of morphological markers, cytological markers, chemical component markers, and molecular markers.It provided relevant strategic references for the collection, preservation, research, and development of Epimedium germ plasm resources.
