Abstract: Chimonanthus praecox ‘Hongyun’ is the first new cultivar of red flower wintersweet by seedling selection and cultivation.Most of its middle tepals are purplish red,very few are red yellow,and the inner tepals are purplish red.The flower is trumpet shaped,with medium diameter and strong fragrance,belonging to late flower cultivar.It has high ornamental value,economic value and scientific research value,laying a foundation for the establishment of rubrum group.
