Abstract: Walnut is an important means of woody grain and oil production in China.It is also a tree species with ecological and medicinal value.It is an important pillar for farmers in Southern Xinjiang to increase their income and become rich.Taking the field survey in four prefectures of Southern Xinjiang as an example,and lessons were drawm from the development of walnut industry at home and abroad.Through visiting the fruit management department,production and processing enterprises,cooperatives,growers,purchasers and fruit machinery market,we can understand the core.In this study,the planting,production and processing,sales and mechanized use of peach industry were analyzed.The development of walnut industry in four regions of Southern Xinjiang was analyzed by SWOT method,and the ideas of promoting the development of walnut industry in Xinjiang were put forward.The results showed that,1) Moderate scale management,improving field management ability,continuously promoting quality and efficiency improvement project,and promoting high-quality development of walnut industry.2) We should cultivate the intensive processing market,improve the level of industrialization,promote the diversification of walnut products,enrich product categories,and increasing market competitiveness.3) Increasing the mechanization subsidy promotion,improving the mechanization level of walnut industry chain,exploring the combination of agricultural machinery and agronomy,and reducing the planting cost.4) Improving the logistics system and diversifying the consumer market.We should reduce logistics costs,strengthen the construction of ‘two networks’ both inside and outside Xinjiang,strengthen the cultivation of new sales channels such as the Internet,and gradually form diversified sales development channels.The results showed that Xinjiang walnut industry has unique advantages in the development of walnut industry in China,and it needs to be further transformed from strong to excellent in order to promote the transformation and upgrading of walnut industry.
