Abstract:
The effects of strawberry mild yellow edge virus(SMYEV) on different varieties of strawberry seedlings were studied by field investigation and RT-PCR using 36 varieties of strawberry seedlings from Beijing area as materials, in order to provide reference for the breeding and popularization of strawberry varieties. The results showed that among the 431 strawberry seedlings collected, 30 SMYEV positive samples were detected, and the virus detection rate was 6.96%.SMYEV was detected from 8 varieties of strawberry seedlings, and the detection rate was 6.5%-23.1%,while no SMYEV were found in the other 28 varieties. The nucleotide sequences of SMYEV coat protein(CP) of three Beijing isolates were obtained by gene cloning, sequencing and alignment analysis. The homology of CP gene sequence between Beijing isolate BJHY253 and American isolate WSU1988 was 98.63%.The homology of CP gene sequence between Beijing isolate BJHYZ83 and Argentina isolate Berra-2 was 99.04%.The homology of CP gene sequence between Beijing isolate BJLYN and Fujian isolate FJ2 was 98.63%.In this study, SMYEV in different strawberry varieties was detected and sequenced. It was found that the detection rate of SMYEV in various strawberry varieties was different. The SMYEV sequences in strawberry seedlings in Beijing were diverse and belonged to different strains. These results will provide data support for field production and virus prevention and control of strawberry.
