Abstract:
Taking walnuts of different germplasm, local walnut varieties in Xinjiang, walnuts of different main planting areas in Xinjiang, walnuts of different periods, and different parts of walnuts as test materials, ANOVA was used to compare the differences in total phenol content in different walnuts and different parts of walnuts, in order to provide reference for the selection and breeding of walnut varieties with higher total polyphenol content. The results showed that, 1) among different germplasm: the total polyphenol content of seed kernel seed coat of ‘Xiangling’(Shandong walnut) was significantly higher than that of other varieties; the performance on the total polyphenol content of seed kernel seed coat was in the following order, ‘Dalianshan’>‘Xinxin2’>‘Xiangling’>‘Wen 185’>‘American Black Walnut’>‘Lionhead’>‘Niangqing’>‘Bigenguo’.2) The total polyphenol of seed kernel in Xinjiang local varieties of ‘Xinwu 417’,7.84 mg·g
-1,was significantly higher than that of other local varieties.3) Among different main planting areas in Xinjiang, total polyphenol content in seed kernel showed significantly higher in Aksu and Hotan areas than other areas.4) Among different parts, total polyphenols in green peels reached the peak on July 6
th,while total polyphenol content in seed kernel seed peels and seed kernels increased gradually throughout the reproductive period; total phenol content in each part showed: seed kernel seed peels>seed kernels>green peels.5) Significant differences existed between different bearing orientations of walnuts fruits in Hotan area, with ‘Wen 185’ seed kernels bearing the highest total polyphenol content in the north and ‘Xinxin 2’ bearing the highest total polyphenol content in the south. In summary, there were differences in walnut fruits from different regions, different fruit parts, different varieties and different growth orientations.
