Abstract:
Paeonia suffruticosa is a traditional ornamental plant with oil and medicinal values. The continuous cropping obstacles(CCO) resulting in the decline of yield and quality of P.suffruticosa, and is an important factor that restricts the sustainable development of tree peony industry.Previous studies showed that the main causes of the continuously monocultured P.suffruticosa were autotoxicity of root exudates, accumulation of soil-borne pathogens, imbalance of rhizosphere soil microbial community and destruction of soil physiochemical properties. At present, reported measures to alleviate the CCO of P.suffruticosa include intercropping, soil sterilization and application of chemical pesticide. However, these measures had some shortcomings, such as high cost, difficulty in operation, instability of effectiveness and unsustainable. Therefore, the interaction mechanism of P.suffruticosa-root exudates-soil-microorganisms is explored in order to further elucidate the causes of continuously monocultured P.suffruticosa.On this basis,a new approaches to alleviate the CCO of P.suffruticosa was provided, which is constructed rhizospheric biocontrol consortia. Moreover, research on the mechanisms of the CCO of P.suffruticosa should be further expanded to provide reference for promoting and guaranteeing the sustainable development of tree peony industry.
