Breeding of a New Hibiscus syriacus Variety ‘Yupan Longzhu’

‘Yupan Longzhu’ is a new variety selected through bud mutation from the traditional cultivated variety ‘Alba Plena Hibiscus’.The variety is deciduous large shrub, plant type is erect.White double flowers grow solitary in leaf axils or at the end of branches, flowers is without pistil and stamens, double flower is garret type presented ‘flowers in flowers’,the upper flower presents small spherical buds when it is not blooming.The flowering period is from June to Octobe.It has strong adaptability, it is suitable for landscaping and ornamental purposes, the flowers of hibiscus‘Yupan Longzhu’ are edible.
