Breeding of a New Muskmelon Cultivar ‘Xuesu No.3’

‘Xuesu No.3’ is a new medium-early muskmelon cultivar bred by crossing ‘M399-01’ as female parent and ‘M9108’ as male parent.The plant growth potential is medium, the root system is developed, the whole growth period is 108-112 days, the fruit development period is 38-42 days.The fruit is oval, white, smooth or with sparse cracks; the weight of single fruit is 1.5-2.0 kg; the thickness of white flesh and pulp is 4.2 cm, and the content of soluble solids in the center is 16.0%-19.0%.It is suitable for spring cultivation in North China and open cultivation in Northwest China.
