Abstract:
In the present study, the Xizhoumi No.25 melon fruits were employed as the test materials, and were divided in different groups kept in different refrigerators with same size and good airtightness. Then, these fruits were continuously treated with ozone for 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 h every 24 h, respectively, which was continued for 3 days, and effects of different ozone treatments on rotting rates, soluble solids contents and weight loss rates of fruits etc during storage at 6 ~8 ℃ were investigated. The results showed that ozone treatments could effectively maintain the good fruits firmness, delay the reduction of total soluble solids contents, decrease the rotting rates and prolong the shelflife of melon fruits, and ozone treatment for 0.5 h every 24 h showed the best effects.
