Abstract:
The contents of polyphenols substances in peel of 9 table and wild grape varieties which mainly produced in Guangxi province were determined, and their effect on the clearance of 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl(DPPH) free radical and superoxide anion free radicals were studied. The grape peel with high content of polyphenols were wild grape‘Wild grape No. 2’and table grape‘Wenk’, which contained 22.63 mg/g and 19.77 mg/g, respectively. The scavenging rates of DPPH free radicals for all varieties grape peel polyphenols were greater than 85%, and the antioxidant effect was significant. However, there were great differences in the scavenging rates of superoxide anion free radicals, the highest scavenging rate was in the‘Summer black’grapes(98.3%), followed by‘Wild grape No. 2’grapes(85.7%) and the lowest in the‘Yongyou No. 1’grape(35%). The four grape varieties with high content of polyphenols in peel and superior antioxidant activity were‘Wild grape No. 2’grape,‘Wenk’grape,‘New strain Y137’grape and‘Summer black’grape.
