Abstract: Plant polyphenol has various biological activities such as anti-oxidation, hypoglycemic, anti-mutation,antibacterial, anti-cancer and so on, and it has been called natural bacteriostatic agents. Sanguisorba officinalis L.is rich in polyphenols, which has broad development prospects in medical care, food hygiene and other fields.This article summarized the antibacterial action mechanism, research progress on polyphenols from Sanguisorba officinalis L., and current application status of related research.
