Abstract:
The total flavonoids were extracted from Hovenia acerba Lindl. and their antioxidant activities were investigated. The extraction process of the total flavonoids was optimized by single factor experiments and orthogonal design, and the optimal parameters were determined as follows: ethanol volume fraction of 40%, solid-liquid ratio of 1∶50(g/mL), extraction temperature of 40 ℃, and extraction time of 15 min. The extraction rate of total flavonoids from Hovenia acerba Lindl. were 4.52%±0.043% under these conditions. The antioxidant properties determination results showed that the total flavonoids presented scavenging effects on hydroxyl, superoxide, DPPH and ABTS radicals, and displayed strong antioxidant capacities. Besides, the antioxidant activities of total flavonoids from Hovenia acerba Lindl. showed highly significant differences between different concentrations, which demonstrated significant dosages effects.
