Abstract:
In order to determine the anti-inflammatory mechanism and effect of Schisandra chinensis on animals, network pharmacology was used to analyze the effective ingredients, core targets, and important pathways which Schisandra chinensis exerted anti-inflammatory effect. The dextran sulfate sodium-induced mice colitis model was utilized to assess the anti-inflammatory activities of Schisandra chinensis and the expression of pathway proteins. The results showed that eight substances were the active ingredients of Schisandra chinensis to exert anti-inflammatory effect, such as Longikaurin A,Deoxyharringtonine and Angeloylgomisin O. The anti-inflammatory effect could be attributed to the targeting of twenty-five core targets, including Pik3ca, Akt1 and Map2k1. The PI3K/Akt signaling pathway was a vital signaling pathway to excert anti-inflammatory effect. The animal model experiment had shown that Schisandra chinensis could effectively increase mouse body weight and colon length, reduce colon weight and colon-weight index, regulate the balance between pro-inflammatory and antiinflammatory factors in dextran sulfate sodium-induced mice colitis model, and effectively inhibited the activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
