Analysis of driving factors of terrestrial vegetation NPP in Heilongjiang Province from 2000 to 2020

  • Net primary productivity(NPP) is one of the most important indicators of terrestrial ecosystem productivity. It can be used to characterize the potential of vegetation growth to offset anthropogenic carbon emissions, which plays an important role in maintaining global carbon balance, mitigating climate change and achieving Chinese dual carbon strategy. NPP of vegetation was calculated based on the validated TEC model. The temporal and spatial variation characteristics of vegetation NPP and its influencing factors during the key implementation period of ecological protection and restoration(2000-2020) in Heilongjiang Province were studied by using Sen trend estimation and land use dynamic attitude, and the driving factors of NPP were quantitatively analyzed by Geodetector and correlation analysis. The results showed as the followings: from 2000 to 2020 the climate in Heilongjiang Province showed a warming and wetting trend, which improved the thermal and moisture conditions for vegetation significantly. From 2000 to 2020, the increase of forest area was the largest in Heilongjiang Province. The increase of human settlement area indicated that urbanization process in Heilongjiang Province had been gradually advanced, and the speed of urbanization had been accelerated since2010.The21-yearaveragevalueofannualaverageNPPwas602.7gC·m-2inHeilongjiangProvincefrom2000to2020.Theaveragevalueofannual NPPsignificantlyincreased(P<0.01),andtheincreaseoffarmlandwasthefastest.Amongthenaturalfactors,precipitationwastheleadingfactoraffectingtheincreaseofNPP.Landcovertypealso had an important impact on NPP, suggesting that China could continue to implement appropriate ecological restorationpoliciestoincreaseNPPandimprovethecarbonsequestrationpotentialofterrestrialecosystemsinthe future.Tosumup, thestudywasexpectedtoprovidesomescientificreferencesforthedevelopmentofecological andenviron-mentalmanagementpoliciesandtherealizationof "carbonpeakandcarbonneutrality" inChina.
