Abstract: Genetically modified herbicide tolerant（GMHT） soybean has become an important thruster for the development of soybean industry. The widespread adoption of GMHT soybean has brought revolutionary changes to weed management and significant economic and social benefits. At present, biological breeding technology has become the focus of modern agricultural scientific innovation, and it is an important competitive field of science and economy. Based on the biotech/GM Approval Database of ISAAA（International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications） and the approval information published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, this paper introduced the global development status and approval information of GMHT soybeans in China, and reviewd the research progress of GMHT soybean in China. In addition, some suggestions were raised for promoting the research and application of GMHT soybean in China.
