Flight Test and Evaluation for Installation Performance of a Turboshaft Engine Based on Prediction Model

  • Installation performance of turboshaft engine is an important technical index, and it is also one of the important test contents in helicopter flight test. In this paper, through the aerodynamic model of the engine installed in helicopter, a turboshaft engine installation performance prediction model based on test design is established by using the structural test mechanism, and a flight test study on model modification and performance evaluation is carried out. The results show that the error is less than 5% when comparing the calculation results of the established engine installation performance model with the flight test data, and the results are in good agreement, which can meet the requirements of the performance flight test evaluation of the installed engine. The model can predict the engine performance data under different flight conditions, which can provide data support for the improvement of flight manual, and avoid the error caused by the traditional calculation method. The research results provide technical support for the subsequent turboshaft engine performance test evaluation under installed condition.
