Abstract:
【Objective】This study aimed to explore the effect of application of bio-organic fertilizer with microbial inoculants on the growth of garlic seedlings, establishing a scientific scheme for their effective utilization in garlic cultivation.【Method】With purple garlic grown in plastic greenhouses as the materials, field trials were conducted to investigate the effects of different amounts of bio-organic fertilizer and microbial inoculants on the physiological characteristics, growth, yield, and quality of garlic seedlings.【Result】Applying only bio-organic fertilizer (400~800 kg/667m~2) increased the yield of purple garlic by 4.3%to 12.8%.Moreover,vitamin C,soluble sugar, and allicin content increased by 26.9%to 52.3%,21.9%to 24.8%,and 62.2%to 94.1%,respectively,while nitrate content decreased by 5.8%to 37.3%.When bio-organic fertilizer and microbial inoculants were applied together at amount of 400 to 800 kg/667m~2 and 80 kg/667m~2,respectively,the yield of purple garlic increased by 4.9%to 14.5%.Additionally,vitamin C,soluble sugar, and allicin content increased by 29.6%to 80.7%,79.0%to 91.4%,and 11.4%to 76.5%,respectively,while nitrate content decreased by 57.7%to 62.6%.【Conclusion】The proper application of bioorganic fertilizer and microbial inoculants can significantly enhance garlic seedling growth, increase production, improve root activity and nitrate reductase activity, and subsequently elevate the levels of chlorophyll, vitamin C,soluble sugar, and allicin, and reduce nitrate content. The optimal application is 800 kg/667m~2 of bio-organic fertilizer combined with 80 kg/667m~2 of microbial inoculants, which may serve as a recommended fertilization approach for local garlic seedling production.
