Abstract: In order to assess the health status of giraffe raised in a zoo, the blood physiological and biochemical index of Tiantian, a male giraffe in Hangzhou Zoo from South Africa were measured. The results showed that the physiological index（RBC, WBC, HGB, HCT and MCH） were consistent with the existing records, biochemical index of Ca, Mg, TP, ALB,GLOB,Na, K and Cl were consistent with index of captive giraffes and ISIS, which indicated that the giraffe Tiantian was in good condition, and the intake of phosphorus in feed should be monitored.
