Abstract:
N-carbamoylglutamate(NCG), a structural analogue of N-acetylglutamate, is often used as an additive to replace arginine(Arg) in ruminant production. NCG not only has the advantages of low degradation rate, low price and low additive amount, but also can promote ruminant production in other aspects. In this paper, the values of NCG in the growth, reproduction, lactation and nitrogen utilization of ruminants, as well as the existing problems, were reviewed, possible breakthroughs and development directions in the future were proposed to provide references for better understanding and application of NCG.
