Abstract:
For the modern extensive and intensive dairy farming production system, the reproductive barriers of high-yield dairy cows have become the bottleneck restricting the economic benefits of dairy farming. In order to improve the reproductive efficiency of dairy cows, researchers have developed breeding control technologies such as synchronization of estrus, pre synchronization and double synchronization, which have been applied to production. However, the fertilization rate of cows(especially the reproductive efficiency under heat stress in summer) still leaves much to be desired. Inhibin immunization technology could make the body produce specific antibodies to neutralize and inhibit endogenous inhibins by injecting inhibin antigen, so as to promote follicle development and regulate the reproductive performance of female animals. After decades of research and improvement, the inhibin immunization combined with estrus synchronization technology has made breakthrough progress in improving the superovulation and pregnancy rate of dairy cows, and has shown excellent application effects and prospects. Based on the fact that the reproductive performance of cows has been declining in China, this paper summarized the ways of applying the inhibin immunization technology for promoting follicle development, improving embryo quality and fertilization rate with low cost and high efficiency, so as to provide a reference for evaluating and discussing its application prospects in dairy cow reproduction and future research directions.
