Abstract:
To explore the influences of AIDA genes on the growth and meat quality traits of Wojin Black cattle, 62 healthy Wojin Black cattle at 1 year old were selected as the study subjects. Sanger sequencing method was used to study the polymorphism of AIDA gene and to analyze the association between different genotypes of AIDA gene exon 10 and production data. The results showed that a missense A/C mutation at the 89 th bp of exon 10 of AIDA gene was detected resulting in a change from lysine to glutamine. Among the three genotypes of being AA, CA and CC, CA was the dominant genotype with A of being the dominant allele. This locus was in Hardy Weinberg equilibrium(P>0.05) and in moderate polymorphism(PIC=0. 335). The association analysis showed that there were significant associations between the variations of AIDA gene and the backfat thickness of male cattle(P<0.05), and no associations were found for body height, cross height, oblique length, chest circumference, abdominal circumference, cannon circumference and eye muscle area of Wojin Black cattle(P>0.05).
