Abstract:
Ankara disease, also known as adenovirus disease, is highly contagious, which affects the normal growth of pheasants and reduces the ornamental effect of pheasants. The objective of this paper is to review the hazards, diagnosis and treatment of pheasant Ankara diseases and to put forward the preventive measures of Ankara disease for captive pheasants in zoos from the perspective of animal feeding management by combining the author’s working experience. Such measures as strengthening feeding management, eliminating the source of infection and improving indoor disinfection would be helpful to improve the feeding and management level of captive wild pheasants. This paper would provide references for pheasant-raising counterparts.
