Abstract:
The college major education should be extended to any available resources outside the campus rather than being confined to be inside the campus. Compared with traditional historical museums, agricultural museums root in the traditional Chinese agricultural civilization and bear the responsibility for exhibiting and spreading the development of ancient and modern agriculture, making them well suitable for being the second classroom for teachers and students of agricultural universities. The education with using museum resources can not only enhance the historical and cultural confidence of college students, but also strengthen their recognition of identity and belonging to their majors, which would be greatly beneficial for college students’ history education, moral education, professional education, etc. This article takes the China Agricultural Museum as an example to explore the feasibility and development direction of using agricultural museums as education resources for students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine.
