Abstract:
In order to explore the differences in growth performance, slaughter performance and meat quality between Duolang sheep× Hu sheep(Duohu) F1 male lambs and Hu male lambs under the same feeding managements, 20 Duohu F1 male lambs and 20 Hu male lambs with good health at the age of 6 months were used for the measurement of the growth performance, and among which, 4 Duohu F1 male lambs and 4 Hu male lambs were for the measurement of the slaughter performance and the meat quality. The results showed that the body weight, body length, body height, chest circumference and tube circumference of Duohu F1 male lambs were extremly higher than those of Hu male lambs(P<0.01). The pre-slaughter live weight, carcass weight and slaughter rate of Duohu F1 rams were extremly higher than those of Hu male lambs(P<0.01), and the eye muscle width and eye muscle area of Duohu F1 male lambs were significantly higher than those of Hu male lambs(P<0.05), however, there was no significant difference in GR value and eye muscle length between two lamb types(P>0.05). The flesh color score of Duohu F1 male lambs was significantly higher than that of Hu male lambs(P<0.05), and there was no significant difference in marble grain, shear force, pH and water loss rate between two lamb types(P>0.05). It could be concluded that the growth performance, slaughter performance and meat quality of Duohu F1 male lambs were better than Hu male lambs at 6 month old.
