Abstract:
The American Quarter horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances of a quarter mile or less, well known for its performance in rodeos, horse shows, and as a working ranch horse, and the most popular breed in the United States. The American Quarter Horse Association is the largest breed registry in the world. This paper summarized the breed profile of the Quarter horses, including breed characteristics, breeding history, breeding organization and registry, Quarter horse racing, fatalities in racing and stud fees, etc, so as to provide a reference for domestic sports horse breeding and marketing.
