Abstract
In order to clarify the effect of adding different levels of selenium-enriched bean sprout powder on egg-laying performance and egg quality in the diet,500 32-week-old hyland brown shell egg-laying hens were randomly divided into 1 control group (Group A,feeding basic diet, containing inorganic selenium 0.3 mg/kg) and 4 test groups (Group B,C,D and E,which added selenium-enriched bean sprout powder 7.5,15.0,22.5,30.0 g/kg separately in diet) during the trial period of 140 days for observing the health of the hens and determining the production performance of eggs, egg quality, selenium content in eggs, hen meat and tissue selenium content. The results showed that the production performance indexes of B,C,D and E groups, such as daily consumption, egg yield, egg weight and egg ratio, were better than those in the control group. The egg weight and egg shell strength of the whole-stage test group were higher than that of the control group, the egg shape index was lower than that of the control group from the 30th day of the trial, and the thickness of the eggshell was higher than that of the control group from the 30th day.The selenium content in the eggs of the test group was significantly increased(P<0.05).With the increase of selenium-enriched bean sprout powder, the selenium content of egg and pectoral muscle, liver, skin and kidneys also increased gradually, and B,C,D,E group pectoral muscle, liver, skin and kidneys all increased significantly(P<0.05);No hens died in each group during the trial, and no acute or chronic poisoning symptoms were found. It shows that selenium-enriched bean sprout powder can be used to produce selenium-enriched eggs, and the appropriate dosage is 7.5-30.0 g/kg.
