Abstract:
In order to promote wheat production in Huaibei, and further explore the suitable sowing date of wheat in this area, Jiangsu(Xinyi) Modern Agriculture(Rice and Wheat) Science and Technology Comprehensive Demonstration Base conducted the experiments with different sowing dates from 2021 to 2022. Huaimai 33, which was widely promoted in Huaibei Area, was selected as the experimental variety, and the sowing dates were October 5, October 15, October 25, November 5, and November 15. The results showed that sowing date significantly affected the growth process of wheat. With the postponement of sowing date, the emergence stage, jointing stage and heading stage were postponed in turn, but the difference in maturity stage was not significant, and the whole growth period of wheat was shortened. The later the sowing date was, the smaller the leaf age of the main stem would be, and the fewer the total tillers per hectare, the number of tillers per plant, the number of large tillers with more than 3.1 leaves per hectare, the number of large tillers greater than 4.1 leaves per hectare, and yhe number of secondary roots per plant would be. The number of panicles per hectare, the number of grains per panicle, the 1 000 grain weight, and the actual yield all increased first and then decreased with the delay of sowing date.
