Key Points of Breeding and Cultivation Technology of New Maize Variety Huawei 1

In order to promote the popularization and application of new maize variety Huawei 1, this paper introduced the parental origin, hybrid breeding process, plant biological characteristics, yield performance and supporting cultivation technology of this variety. Huawei 1 was a new maize variety bred by the Maize Research Institute of Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Jilin Hongxing High-Tech Agriculture Co., LTD., with inbred line J1136 as the mother and inbred line J0866 as the father in 2015. It was approved by the Provincial Crop Variety Certification Committee in 2023（approval number: Heishenyu 2023004）. The average yield of regional trial in 2021-2022 was 12 423.2 kg·ha^-1, which was 7.8% higher than that of the control variety Xianyu 696; The average yield of 2022 production test was 12 622.6 kg·ha^-1, which was 7.5% higher than that of the control variety Xianyu 696. This variety has the advantages of early emergence, orderly characters, good drought tolerance, simple parental breeding and seed production, etc.
