Abstract:
In order to understand the hybridization effect between Zhedong white goose and Hortobagy goose, 20 male Zhedong white geese aged 38 weeks and 80 female Hortobagy geese aged 41 weeks were selected as male parents and female parents for the hybridization experiment, respectively. 100 hybrid goslings were selected for feeding observation, and comparison with pure breeding of Zhedong white goose gosling and Hortobagy goose gosling in the same period, and the appearance characteristics such as feather(down feather) color, forehead tumor, growth rate and slaughter performance of hybrid offspring were analyzed. The results showed that the feather color of female geese was white, the face and the back of eyes were gray, the back had more or less gray feathers, and the male goose feathers were pure white at the age of 10 weeks. At the end of 7 weeks and 10 weeks old, the average body weight of Hortobagy geese and hybrid geese was basically similar, with no significant difference(P>0.05), and both were significantly higher than that of Zhedong white goose(P<0.05). At the end of 10 weeks old, the average weight of male and female geese reached 5.65 kg and 3.77 kg, respectively. The pre slaughter live weight and breast muscle rate of 10 week old male Zhedong white goose were significantly lower than that of male Hortobagy geese and hybrid geese(P<0.05), and there was no significant difference between the latter two(P>0.05). The leg muscle rate of male hybrid geese was significantly higher than that of male Zhedong white goose(P<0.05), but there was no significant difference compared with that of male Hortobagy goose(P>0.05). There was no significant difference between the slaughter rate and half eviscerated rate(P>0.05) in three gooses. The results showed that the hybrid offspring of Zhedong white goose and Hortobagy goose had good production performance.
