Abstract:
A 1-year-old female Chinese Garden cat, weighting 1.5 kg, unsterilized, and bilateral hindlimbs paralyzed. In order to diagnose and treat it, the test used general clinical symptoms, hematology, imaging and cerebrospinal fluid examination methods for diagnosis, and the treatment was based on diagnosis. The results showed that the cat was paralyzed on both hindlimbs caused by myelitis in the L3-L5 segments. After medication and rehabilitation, the cat was successfully cured with a good prognosis. The results suggested that clinically, imaging can be used to accurately diagnose myelitis; conservative treatment combined with appropriate rehabilitation exercises could effectively treat hindlimb paralysis caused by cat myelitis.
