Abstract:
In order to study the effects of different Chinese herbal medicine compounds on the production performance and egg quality of intensively raised Hyline brown laying hens in the middle and late periods of laying, a total of 2 100 Hyline brown laying hens aged 387 days were randomly divided into blank control group(fed with diet), compound Hudi powder group(10 kg/t, fed after mixing with diet), compound Dancha powder group(3.5 kg/t, fed after mixing with diet), compound Chachi powder group(3.5 kg/t, fed after mixing with diet), compound Puchi oral liquid group(300 mL/d, drinking water administration), compound Huangdan oral liquid group(210 mL/d, drinking water administration) and compound Yichuan oral liquid group(600 mL/d, drinking water administration). The pre-feeding period was seven days. The egg production rate and the physique of the laying hens were observed and recorded every day, and the diet was used throughout the pre-feeding period. The laying hens drinked freely. The trial period was 30 days, and the laying rate, broken eggs rate, blood-shell eggs rate, sandy shell, soft shell, and deformed eggs rate of each group of laying hens were counted every week. Eggs were collected on the 0 th, 15 th, and 30 th days of the test, and the egg weight, egg shape index, egg shell thickness, protein height, Haugh unit and egg yolk color were measured. At the end of the experiment, five hens in each group were randomly selected for dissecting, the fallopian tube tissue was aseptically separated to observe the lesion, the fallopian tube was accurately cut for H.E. staining to observe the pathological changes. The results showed that the egg type index, Hahn’s units, protein height, and the colour of egg yolk of the compound Hudi powder group were better than other experimental groups. The egg type index of the compound Dancha powder group and the compound Hudi powder group was better than other experimental groups. The compound Dancha powder group could reduce the rate of blood shell egg production, it was better than other experimental groups. The compound Chachi powder group was better than other experimental groups in reducing the egg breaking rate. The compound Yichuan oral liquid group was better than other experimental groups in improving egg weight. The compound Huangdan oral liquid group was better than other experimental groups in increasing the thickness of the eggshell. The compound Puchi oral liquid group was better than the other experimental groups in reducing the rate of sandy shell, soft shell, and deformed eggs and improving the symptoms of fallopian tube bleeding and redness. The results indicated that adding Chinese herbal medicine compound had a good effect on the production performance and egg quality of Hyline brown laying hens in the middle and late periods of laying.
