Abstract:
In order to study the correlation between reproductive performance and growth performance of Sichuan white goose, 200 healthy female geese aged 26 weeks with the same batch were selected as experimental objects, the reproductive performance body weight at first egg, egg weight at first egg, age at first egg, egg weigth(44 weeks of age) and egg production, adult body weight and body measurements(half-diving depth, body slope length, neck length, breast width, pelvis width, fossil bone length, shank length and shank circumference) were determined, their correlation were analyzed. The results showed there were extremely significant positive correlation between age at first age and body weight at first egg, egg weight and egg weight at first egg, adult weight and body weight at first egg, 48 weeks old egg production and body weight at first egg, 48 weeks old egg production and 64 weeks old egg production among the 8 indexes related to reproductive performance(P<0.01), there were extremely significant negative correlation between age at first age and body weight at first egg, 48 weeks old egg production and egg weight at first egg, 48 weeks old egg production and age at first egg, 64 weeks old egg production and age at first egg(P<0.01), there were significant positive correlation between body weight at first egg and egg weight(44 weeks of age), adult body weight and egg weight(44 weeks of age, P<0.05), while significant negative correlation between age at first egg and 64 weeks old egg production(P<0.05). There was no significant correlation between body measurements and 48, 64 weeks old egg production(P>0.05). There were extremely significant positive correlation between adult body weight and half-diving depth, body slope length, breast width, shank circumference(P<0.01), while extremely significant negative correlation between adult body weight and pelvis width(P<0.01), and significant positive correlation between adult body weight and shank length(P<0.05). There were extremely significant correlation or significant correlation between most of body measurements(P<0.01 or P<0.05).The results indicated that indirect selection and early selection of Sichuan white goose could be carried out by using the correlation between traits.
