Abstract:
Since the reform and opening up, China’s pig industry has developed rapidly, forming a situation of multiple pig breeding modes. At present, pig breeding modes in China can be roughly divided into five categories: independent farmer, company + farmer, company + family farm, cooperation + farmer and corporate integration. Due to different modes, the economic, social and ecological benefits of each mode may be different. This study based on 155 survey datas of 5 provinces and 10 counties, constructed the system of evaluation indexes of economic benefit, social benefit and ecological benefit. Three benefits of the five models were compared and analyzed by combining entropy TOPSIS method. The results showed that in the economic benefit, the corporate integration was the highest, the independent farmer was the lowest. In the social benefits, the company + farmer was the highest, while the independent farmer was the lowest. In the ecological benefits, the cooperation + farmer was the highest, while the independent farmer was the lowest. In the comprehensive benefits, the corporate integration was the highest, followed by the cooperation + farmer, the company + farmer, the company + family farm, and the independent farmer was the lowest. Finally, countermeasures and suggestions for the optimization of China’s pig industry breeding mode were put forward: the independent farmer chose differentiated pig raising; the model of company + farmer and company + family farm would enhance the capacity of both parties in cooperation; cooperation would establish a new system of industrial cooperation and leading enterprises will play a leading role.
