Abstract:
In order to explore the anesthesia effect of dexmedetomidine combined with Qiangtongning on dogs, the experiment selected 6 healthy mongrel dogs, weighing 10-15 kg, and administered dexmedetomidine(according to the weight of 80 μg/kg) and Qiangtongning(according to the weight of 0.1 mg/kg) intramuscularly to the neck. Six test dogs were treated as anesthesia group for simple anesthesia test first. 14 days later, the 6 dogs were anesthetized again and the operation test was performed. As the operation group, there were 2 for laparotomy, and 4 for birth control including 2 male dogs and 2 female dogs. Before the operation, the test dogs should be kept hydrated; fasting for 6-8 hours; and the surgical site should be shaved and disinfected in advance. Before compound anesthesia and 5,10,20,30,40,50,60 min post administration, body temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure(systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure) and other physiological indicators and reflex activities(cornea, anus, eyelid reflex) and other elements were monitored; the specific anesthesia effect was compared between simple anesthesia and post-anesthesia surgery. The results show that after injection of dexmedetomidine and Qiangtongning, the dogs entered the anesthesia period within 4.1 min on average, and the duration of anesthesia was relatively suitable. The recovery period of the anesthesia group was(45.00±6.11) min, and that of the operation group was(43.25±3.14) min. The changes of body temperature in the operation group and the anesthesia group were basically the same. There was a significant difference in body temperature between the two groups within 5-15 min after anesthesia(P<0.05), but there was no significant difference after anesthesia(P>0.05). At the same time point, there was no significant difference in the blood oxygen saturation between the operation group and the anesthesia group(P>0.05), which decreased at first and then gradually increased. The lowest blood oxygen saturation of the two groups was about 80%, and the oxygenation status was slightly worse, but the blood oxygen saturation of the operation group was slightly lower than that of the anesthesia group 10-35 min after anesthesia. The heart rate of the operation group was significantly higher than that of the anesthesia group 20-60 min after anesthesia(P<0.05). five to 55 min after anesthesia, there were no significant differences in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial blood pressure between the operation group and the anesthesia group(P>0.05). The systolic blood pressure in the operation group first decreased and then increased steadily, and a gentle downward trend appeared in the anesthesia group. 60 min after anesthesia, there were significant differences in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and mean arterial blood pressure between operation group and anesthesia group(P<0.05). During the operation, the corneal and anal reflexes of the dogs did not disappear completely. In the anesthesia group, the reactions of the anal and corneal reflexes were sluggish within 20-60 min after injection of anesthetic, while in the time of 15-60 min, the reactions of the eyelid reflexes were no response. These results indicate that intramuscular injection of dexmedetomidine and Qiangtongning can successfully complete common operations such as exploratory laparotomy and neutering.
