Abstract:
One male uncastrated exotic shorthair cat was presented to the doctor due to depression and increased water consumption. In order to make an accurate clinical diagnosis, physique, blood routine, blood biochemical indicators, urine, abdominal B-mode ultrasound were used for diagnosis, and treatment was performed based on the diagnosis results. The results showed that the cat was diagnosed with polycystic kidney with polycystic liver, and had developed chronic kidney disease. After symptomatic treatment, the cat’s spirit and appetite did not improve significantly, and it died on the 30 th day after diagnosis. The results suggested that early diagnosis of cat polycystic kidney disease played an important role in maintaining the survival of cats. Cats with genetic defects should stop breeding immediately to control the occurrence of the disease from the source.
