Abstract:
Betaine is a highly active methyl donor that promotes protein synthesis, improves carcass quality, and plays an important role in regulating fat and amino acid metabolism. Therefore, as a new type of feed additives, betaine is being developed and utilized in beef cattle production. In this paper, the physical and chemical properties, physiological functions of betaine and its application in beef cattle production were reviewed in order to provide reference for the research on the role of betaine in beef cattle fattening.
