Abstract:
A 2-month-old male Chinchilla(stray cat) was treated for vomiting, bloody diarrhea, conjunctivitis and respiratory disease. Blood routine was taken; Feline panleukopenia virus(FPV) antigen rapid diagnostic test strip, and Felid alphaherpevirus 1(FHV-1), Feline calicivirus(FCV), Mycoplasma(Myc) and Chlamydia(Chl) antigen fluorescence quantitative PCR were carried out; diagnosis was carried out by a series of examinations including feline serum amyloid protein-A(fSAA) and staining and microscopy of ocular and nasal secretions, and the treatment was carried out according to the diagnosis. The results showed that the cat was diagnosed with a mixed infection of Feline panleukopenia virus, FHV-1 and eye-nose bacteria. After 6 days of continuous follow-up treatment through antiviral, antibacterial, nutritional support, and regular monitoring of the changes in relevant indicators, both FPV and FHV-1 antigen in this case turned negative, and all physical indicators basically returned to the normal level; the 15 th day after discharge from the hospital, the cat had recovered according to the follow-up phone call. The results suggested that the diagnosis and treatment plan for this case was effective and feasible.
