Abstract:
In order to systematically study the species of feeding plants for Xinjiang Junggar bactrian camel, forming scientific forage ratio and improving milk production quality, wild plants fed by camels from 16 pastoral areas in northern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from April 2019 to November 2020 were collected and identified through pressed specimens. The species, life forms and main application value of the plants were analyzed. The results showed that 127 species were identified, belonging to 97 genera, 32 families and three phyla, among which ferns were one family, one genus and one species, gymnosperms were one family, one genus and one species, and angiosperms were 125 species, 95 genera and 30 families.Chenopodiaceae accounted for the most, followed by Gramineae and Leguminosae plants. Compositae, Polygonaceae, Zygophyllaceae, Salicaceae, Tamariaceae, and Rosaceae accounted for a certain proportion. There were 65 kinds of herbs, 48 kinds of shrubs, seven kinds of trees, and three kinds of grasses. There are 69 species of plants with feed value, 49 species with medicinal value, and 54 species with ecological restoration value. There are many kinds of feeding plants for Junggar bactrian camel, which are drought resistance characteristics. Among them, the plants with good forage value are the majority, followed by the middle and lower ones, and the lower forage plants. The results indicated that the utilization rate of plants in desert and arid areas of Xinjiang Junggar bactrian camel is high, and had a wide variety of plants, both high-quality and low-grade forage value plants can be fed, and the plants had the characteristics of drought tolerance, salt tolerance, and salt resistance, and the application value is mainly for feeding, medicinal and ecological restoration.
