Abstract:
Animal husbandry and veterinary professionals are the key force to promote the development of animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises. In order to alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand between animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises and animal husbandry and veterinary professionals in agricultural universities, a questionnaire survey was conducted among students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary in two representative agricultural universities in Heilongjiang Province(Northeast Agricultural University and Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural University). The questionnaire survey was conducted to understand the employment situation or intention of students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine and their impression and evaluation on animal husbandry and veterinary medicine enterprises, and analyzed the factors influencing the employment of students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine enterprises. The results showed that the proportion or willingness of these students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary in agricultural universities to work in animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises was not high, and their impression on animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises was not good. The proportion of male students who had been employed in animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises or were willing to work in animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises after graduation was higher than that of female students; the proportion of postgraduate students was higher than that of undergraduates, and the proportion of Party members was lower. Rural students account for the vast majority, and their parents’ educational level was mainly concentrated in junior and senior high schools(including higher vocational and technical school). Local employment policies, enterprise scale and enterprise culture had a greater impact on the employment of students in animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises, while the nature of enterprises had a smaller impact on the employment of students in animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises. In view of this, countermeasures and suggestions were put forward from the government, animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises and agricultural colleges and universities. The government should strengthen macro-control and provide policy support; animal husbandry and veterinary enterprises should strengthen cooperation with agricultural colleges and universities and strengthen the construction of enterprise culture; agricultural colleges and universities should guide students to change the employment concept and perfect the talent training mode.
