Abstract: In order to study the effect of artificial insemination on the reproductive performance of female Wusuli raccoon dogs, 88 female Wusuli raccoon dogs with similar body weight were selected and randomly divided into natural mating group（33 Wusuli raccoon dogs） and artificial insemination group（55 Wusuli raccoon dogs）. Under the same feeding conditions, the mating test was carried out. The conception rate, average litter size of female raccoon dogs and birth weight of young reccoon dogs were determined. The results showed that there was no significant difference in conception rate of female raccoon dogs between artificial insemination group and natural mating group（P＞0.05）, but the average litter size of female raccoon dogs and birth weight of young reccoon dogs in artificial insemination group were significantly higher than those in natural mating group（P＜0.05）. The results indicated that artificial insemination technology had a good effect in the breeding of Wusuli raccoon dogs, and could improve the reproductive performance of female raccoon dogs, and was worthy popularizing.
